Laurel: May the tasks I give you never be a burden.
Apprentice: May my work always win your approval.
Laurel: May my example always be one of chivalry and honor.
Apprentice: May my actions reflect honor upon you.
Laurel: May I never expect of you more than I expect from myself.
Apprentice: May I never do you the injustice of expecting perfection.
Laurel: May I always remember you are my colleague, not my servant.
Apprentice: May I always pay you the honor due a teacher.
Laurel: May the master never overwhelm the friend.
Apprentice: May my homage be rooted in friendship.
Laurel: May I always keep the detachment a good teacher needs.
Apprentice: May my friendship never lessen my respect and admiration.
Laurel: May I be slow to anger and quick to praise.
Apprentice: May I never spark the anger in your eyes.
Laurel: May you always share the warmth of my hearth and my table.
Apprentice: May I sometimes bring a smile or lift the mood.
Laurel: May my pride in you grow as the days pass.
Apprentice: May my pride in you stand me straighter.
Laurel: May I always justify your pride in me.
Apprentice: May I always justify your pride in me.
Laurel: May I never betray your trust in my leadership.
Apprentice: May I never shame your faith in me.
Laurel: And may someday I "beg the boon" for you from our Sovereign.
Apprentice: And may someday your hand place my wreath.
