Apprentice Ceremony #2: Dame Enid of the Tin Isles

This ceremony varies slightly from apprentice to apprentice.
This is Lady (Now Mistress) Alys Katharine's version.

Private!

Enid: Lady Alys Katharine, you have asked to be my apprentice in the study
and practice of Cookery. We consider apprenticeship to be a serious undertaking for two reasons. One, you are committing yourself to the pursuit of excellence in your chosen craft just as the apprentices of old did. Two, you undertake to serve the Crown in the pursuit of that excellence, just as a squire commits himself through his knight. Do you understand and accept these commitments?

Alys: I do.

Enid: Will you swear fealty through me to the Crown of the Midrealm.

Alys: I here swear fealty through you to the Crown of the Middle Kingdom. I promise to serve my craft truly and to uphold the honour of the Middle Kingdom.

Enid: And I promise, for my part, to be a good Master, to give you true
instruction, aid and counsel; and to promote your interests in the Society for Creative Anachronism. In token of your apprenticeship, receive this belt.
